About the Trust
Who are we?
Strathfillan Community Development Trust is a local charity representing the residents of Tyndrum, Crianlarich and Inverarnan. We have a Board of 7 volunteer members, all of whom are full time residents of the Strathfillan area. We are led by our Constitution and Membership.
Strathfillan can be found in the north of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and comprises the three communities of Tyndrum, Crianlarich and Inverarnan. We have a population of c400. The area is enjoyed by visitors for its walking and beautiful landscape, and is a popular place for people to stop en-route north.
What do we do?
Led by our Board and local volunteers, our main aim is to support and promote community development across the Strathfillan area. We do this by managing community owned and leased assets; undertaking projects, activities and events that support or improve the lives of our local residents; and supporting local groups, businesses and organizations where appropriate.
How do we achieve this?
To achieve this overarching aim we have a number of key objectives:
To develop and deliver our Community Action and Place Plans
To provide affordable housing to local people
To manage and develop public land and woodland for recreation and the environment
To support better community health and well-being
To support and promote social and economic development
To work constructively in partnership with other organizations

SCDT Fair Work First Statement
Jointly agreed by the Board Members of SCDT and its current employees, this statement confirms the Strathfillan Community Development Trusts commitment to ensuring fair working practices are in place in support of ‘Fair Work First’.
Fair Work First is the Scottish Government's flagship policy for driving high quality and fair work across the labour market in Scotland by applying fair work criteria to grants, other funding and contracts being awarded by and across the public sector, where it is relevant to do so.
SCDT confirms:
We are a Living Wage employer.
We offer informal channels for effective workers’ voice, such regular appraisals and attending Board and other meetings, founded on trust and respect.
We endeavour to develop a skilled, sustainable workforce by undertaking effective consultation, planning, recruitment and development through effective organisational development and design.
We will continue to work towards equitable support and career progression for colleagues across our workforce.
We offer flexible and family friendly working practices for all workers from day one of employment.
We do not engage in ‘fire and rehire’ practices.
We will only use zero-hour contracts in limited instances where it is mutually appropriate.
